September 26, 2022 – JIMTOF 2022 (The 31st Japan International Machine Tool Fair), one of the largest machine tool exhibitions in the world, organized by the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association and Tokyo Big Sight Inc., will be held at Tokyo Big Sight for six days from November 8 (Tue.) to November 13 (Sun.), 2022. The program details of the special symposium and special display in the "Additive Manufacturing (AM) Area in JIMTOF 2022," which will newly take place in the South Exhibition Hall as a Special Event, have been decided.

●Special Symposium in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Area
Under the title of "Female engineers’ insight of manufacturing world", three young female engineers from the aerospace industry

will hold the special symposium in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Area on November 9　(Wed.), from 10:00. In this symposium, the three female engineers will talk about various aspects of their work as well as their insights and valuable experiences they have gained from working in the manufacturing world, which will be moderated by Ms. Mihoko FUKUNAGA, Manager, Sales and Marketing Dept., IHI AEROSPACE Co., Ltd.

●Special Display in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Area
JIMTOF 2022 will introduce a special display in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) area under the theme of "A novel manufacturing technology for bringing life to your designs and inspirations! -Development of next-generation industrial 3D printer technology-" by TRAFAM (Technology Research Association for Future Additive Manufacturing)” from November 8 (Tue.) to 13 (Sun.).

●Events and Seminars for Students
At every JIMTOF exhibition, events and seminars for science students are undertaken in order to expand their awareness of and interest in the manufacturing industry as well as to increase the number of workers in the field. JIMTOF 2022 will hold the "Top Seminar by Machine Tool Manufacturers for Students," in which the management and young engineers from various machine tool manufacturers will introduce the importance and appeal of machine tools, which are at the cutting edge of manufacturing; the excellence of working in the machine tool industry as well as “Introductory Seminar for Students on the Manufacturing Industry”. Under the theme of “Passing the Torch – My journey as space robot engineer –“, Ms. Satoko OTSUKA, Senior Engineer, Human Spaceflight Technology Center, Human Spaceflight Technology Directorate, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency will give a special lecture.
